Where peptide claims leave question marks

A convincing advert still needs evidence.

A confident claim can feel like someone has already done the checking. Ask where that confidence comes from.

A moment to think it through.

The idea to question

A health advert has already passed a government check.

The short answer

A government agency has not approved the advert before you see it. The Federal Trade Commission, known as the FTC, warns readers about that gap. FTC’s health-advert advice

Follow the claim back to what was actually checked.

Ask for the source behind the promise

The FTC’s September 2026 advice calls for truthful health adverts backed by scientific evidence, while warning that dishonest claims still appear. FTC’s health-advert advice

Try a direct question: “Can I read the evidence for this exact product and this particular use?”

Ask what was proved about the pharmacy-made medicine

Compounding puts preparation of the medicine with a pharmacist or doctor, in place of a drug maker’s ready-made product. FDA’s compounding answers

FDA is short for Food and Drug Administration. Some adverts say a compounded medicine has been proved to work as well as an approved medicine. That comparison is misleading, says FDA’s guidance available in September 2026. FDA on compounded-drug adverts

Ask whether the evidence concerns the actual preparation being offered. Then ask what the source leaves uncertain.
